When to use the sensory room
Periods of emotional stress are not dangerous to health if they end in periods of active rest and relaxation accompanied by feelings of positive emotions. This requirement is achieved during the sessions in the Sensory room, accompanied by the relaxing environment with aromatherapy, with frameless furniture, and visual contacts with light and optical devices.
The effect of sensory stimulation on the brain after 15-20 minutes of stay in the Sensory room contributes to achieving a state of relaxation, on the surface of which are normalized many functions of the human body.
Technical acoustic devices and panels such as relaxation music (nature sounds, birds, soothing sounds, etc.) with easy interaction provide a treatment of auditory attention, development of auditory perception, also help to influence all auditory impulses.
Visual stimulation helps to improve the reduction of visual functions, treatment and prevention of general visual fatigue.
The use of the sensory chamber is preferred in pre-operative preparation (for the purpose of relieving psycho-emotional tensions with the relaxation of skeletal muscles and the reduction of spasticity). Patients who have undergone preoperative treatment in the sensory room alleviate the fear before surgery and therefore do not need the additional sedative therapy and also they are easily tolerated in the early postoperative period.
